Local Father's Day Gifts: For the Hunter

Discover where to get that gift for dad while staying in the Mendota Heights area.

With less than a week left before Father’s Day, many local shops offer great gifts for dad, no matter what his interests. Check back each day this week for more local picks. Father's Day is Sunday, June 19.

While it may not be deer season yet, in Lilydale could fill any hunter’s need to be in the presence of wild game with hunting trophies made of animals of all sizes hung on nearly every wall. And, in the middle of the dinning room, there's a full-sized moose named Stanley.

The family-owned restaurant offers a deck and patio perfect for the early summer weather Minnesota tends to get on Father’s Day. Sports games and golf are always on the TV, Schaefer said. The pool table is open and video games such as Golden Tee Golf and Big Buck Hunter are ready and waiting.

For Father’s Day, Moose Country, 857 Sibley Memorial Highway, will offer its normal Sunday breakfast - including the build-your-own-bloody-mary bar, where customers can choose and pour their own vodka, for $3.50. If it’s dinner dad wants, Moose Country offers $6.99 burgers all night.

Bring dad in to celebrate his day or give him a gift certificate so he can go out with the guys to watch that sports game that’s on at the same time as your favorite TV show. Make sure he doesn’t leave without a picture with Stanley!

Check back Tuesday for Father's Day gifts for a dad who is a wannabe landscape designer.
