House Hunt: Homes for Sale in Mendota Heights Area

A house is a home, not a stock market investment

What will a house bought in 2011 be worth in five years? In 10 years? There are any number of prognosticators who will tell you, but the truth is, no one knows.

Nothing like the current housing market has ever happened before so there’s no past performance on which to base a decision. If you’re a prospective home owner,  choose a home not as an investment–leave that to actual investors—but as a place to live. Choose neighborhoods, amenities and style based on what you want to come home to, not on how much the home might sell for in the future.

Prices for houses will go up, but how much and how fast we can leave to crystal ball readers. When you walk into a home on the market and can see yourself living there for a long time, then you’ve found your house.
