Get Out ... and Explore the Mendota Heights Area Sept. 9-11

When/Where: 7 p.m., Friday Sept. 9/ Dodge Nature Center, 365 Marie Ave W, West St. Paul

Why Go: Mixed Precipitation will deliver theater, opera and some Americana as part of their “Picnic Operetta” season. Bring a picnic and the family for this outdoor garden production. In case of rain, gather at the Farm Education Building, 1701 Charlton Street.

Holy Family Maronite Church Fall Festival

When/ Where: 5-10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9; 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11/ Holy Family Maronite Church, 1960 Lexington Ave S, Mendota Heights

Why Go: Bingo on Friday is a crowd favorite, and Sunday’s Lebanese-themed festival is full of authentic food, traditional dances and games for kids.  

Pricing: Free admission. Food and activity tickets will be sold.

 

When/Where: 9:30 p.m. Saturday Sept. 10/ 3110 80th St E, Inver Grove Heights

Why Go: Fireworks season is nearly over. Get your fill of oohs and aahs before it’s too late.

When/Where: 1 p.m., Saturday Sept. 10/ Lilydale Regional Park Brickyards, 950 Lilydale Rd, St. Paul

Why Go: Dodge Nature Center hosts this exploration of our local geology and the treasures it holds.

Pricing: Adults $7, Children $7, Families $20. Members: Adults $5, Children $5, Families $15. Free for children ages 2 and under. Registration required.

 

When/Where: 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11/, 1000 Wagon Wheel Trl, Mendota Heights  

Why Go: Kids 14-years-old and younger can compete for prizes with their catch. Goodie bags and entertainment will follow the fishing frenzy.
