It's Memorial Day weekend. Take some time to honor those who have died for this country, then take some time for yourself.
1.) Comedians
When/Where: 8 p.m., 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 27-28/Joke Joint Comedy Club, 801 Sibley Memorial Hwy, Lilydale
Why Go: Kenny Kane brings his high-energy, over-the-top antics to Lilydale. Jodie Maruska, a local comedy talent and published writer, will open.

When/Where: 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Sunday May 29/, 12600 Nicollet Ave, Burnsville
Why Go: Traditional and modern Asian dance troupes will compete for the Pan Asian Dance Award. The first round at 9:30 a.m. is free, the second round will require a ticket for entrance.
Price: $5 for second round
3.) From the Front IV: Vietnam
When/Where: 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., Friday; 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday/Lawshe Memorial Museum, 130 Third Ave. N., South St. Paul
Why Go: The experiences of Dakota County veterans are used to present a unique local perspective of the Vietnam conflict. This is a daily exhibit open through Dec. 23.
Price: Free, donations accepted

When/Where: 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday, May 30/Fort Snelling, 200 Tower Avenue, St. Paul
Why Go: Reenactors will bring to life a living timeline of military history—an engaging and timely event for Memorial Day. Veterans receive free admission.
Price: $10 adults, $8 seniors and college students, $5 children ages 6-17; free for children age 5 and under and MHS members.
5. Outdoor Chores Volunteering
When/Where: Anytime/Homes throughout northern Dakota County
Why Go: DARTS is looking for outdoor chore volunteers to help with spring and summer chores. Put raking, mowing and trimming skills to good use by contacting Mary Richardson at DARTS, 651-455-1560 or mary.richardson@darts1.org
