Drinking Water Advisory Lifted for West St. Paul

St. Paul Regional Water Services has determined the water is safe to drink.

A issued Tuesday for West St. Paul has been lifted.

When a pump lost power during Tuesday's storms, a tank serving part of West St. paul lost pressure, making it more susceptible to contamination.

St. Paul Regional Water Services, who provides water to much of northern Dakota County, issued the drinking water advisory as a precaution while they tested the water for bacteria.

“We are lifting the drinking water advisory after receiving the results from our comprehensive sampling program, confirming that there are no bacteriological contaminants in the water being distributed through our mains,” said General Manager Steve Schneider in a statement released Wednesday morning. “Customers can resume normal water usage,” Schneider said. “West Saint Paul’s service and pressure have returned to normal.”
