Landowners can apply by Sept. 15 for Dakota County's Farmland and Natural Areas program.

Landowners that want to preserve their land or water through Dakota County’s Farmland and Natural Areas Program are invited to apply by Sept. 15.

The program works through conservation easements or the purchase of land to permanently protect open space. It is funded through a $20 million bond referendum passed in 2002.

For more information and to review a pre-application, visit the Dakota County website. In the search box, enter "Farmland and Natural Areas Program". You can also contact Lisa West at 952-891-7018.
