The final version, presented at the March 19 meeting, eliminates all bump-outs and sets the road widths for the reconstructed portions of Hunter Lane and Orchard Place at 29 feet. Culligan Lane, also slated for reconstruction, will have a width of 30 feet in order to match existing urban sections. The reconstruction will also add storm sewer catch basins, new water mains and fire hydrants.

City Engineer John Mazzitello told the council the plans incorporated surmountable curbs as much as possible while using barrier curbs -- which are preferable for water runoff and safety reasons -- for the rest. The entire reconstructed portion of Hunter Lane will feature barrier curbs.

For Culligan Lane, Glenhill Road and Veronica Lane, the work will consist of grinding away the bituminous road surface and laying a new 2.5-inch base and 1.5-inch top layer, along with repairs to catch basins, curbs and gutters as needed.
