Don corrects an error in his last post, and offers the victim a platform to correct the record.
I want to offer an apology to Rep Atkins for an error in my last blog post.
They say that as a reporter, if your mother tells you she loves you - check it out!
Well, I didn't, and incorrectly reported in my last post that Rep Atkins is a sponsor of House File 950, the Family Child Care Providers Representation Act. (Patch editors have responded to a call from his office and edited that post to remove references to Rep Atkins to and eliminate the error.)

It seems only fair that the retraction get as much circulation as the riginal error, so I decided to post another blog dedicated to the correction, and invite Rep Atkins to comment here to state his position on this legislation, should he choose.
I normally hold myself to a higher standard, and hope this lapse is unique.

I apologize for the error, and will be more careful in the future. Next time, I'll "check it out".
