UPDATED: Sale of Mendota Heights-Based Sun Country Airlines on The Horizon?

Spokesperson said the company has no plans for relocation at this time.

 , headquartered in Mendota Heights, may be operating under new ownership soon.

The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal reported today that a trustee of Tom Petters, Doug Kelley, made a filing this week in bankruptcy court stating that he anticipates a letter of intent. The name of the potential buyer is under wraps for the time being.

The company has no plans to relocated at this time, said the company's marketing coordinator, Kelsey Smith, but the details available at this time are slim. "We really don’t know anything. It's in really early stages."

Sun Country has 650 full-time employees and 196 part-time employees company-wide, according to Smith.
