Sun Country Headquarters Secure in Mendota Heights

New owners say they're happy with existing management.

The purchase of by Cambria Holdings, LLC will not have any impact on jobs in Mendota Heights or operations of the airline, according to Sun Country management.

Cambria Holdings, LLC is owned by the Davis family of southern Minnesota. They also own Cambria countertops, operated out of Le Sueur, MN.

It was also reported Tuesday by the Star Tribune that the purchasers didn’t even scrape the bottom with their offer. Cambria purchased the airline for $34 million, $10 million more than the minimum price set by the bankruptcy trustee.

Sun Country’s holding company, MN Airlines LLC, submitted a bankruptcy plan in April 2010.

The company has since turned their financial picture around, and in the works began last March.

How can a countertop company run an airline? “They are not running the day-to-day operations and are very happy with current CEO, Stan Gadek and management to continue to run the company,” said Sun Country spokesperson Kelsey Dodson-Smith.

Cambria president Martin Davis could not be reached for comment on the sale.
