Mendota Liquor Ribbon-Cutting Set for Friday

New ownership has remodeled the interior and expanded inventory.

The new owner of has had a bumpy spring, but is hoping a ribbon-cutting this Friday to celebrate the grand re-opening will add a splash of good luck.

Jeerasak Poophakumpanart, or "Jee," purchased the business from long-time owner Patrick Souen late last fall. He has been working to expand the inventory and give the business an updated look over the winter.

But from contractors that he said have bilked him to a robbery March 22 that damaged the storefront and his cash registers, Jee said it's been a rough transition. "Everything seemed to go wrong. One after one after one."

He said his Mendota Heights clientele has been good to him though, and the business is offering a grand re-opening sale through April 14 and wine tasting events on Friday to celebrate.

Jee also wants customers to see the store's wider selection, which includes more sizes, and the new wine displays.
