VIDEO: Local Contestant on NBC's "The Voice" Has Deep Musical Background

Nicholas David Mrozinski attended Eagan High School. He has five albums to his name and a Twin Cities musical career that spans more than a decade.

A recent appearance on NBC's "The Voice", a competitive singing show where contestants are trained by celebrity judges, is just the latest development in a long and multi-faceted musical career for Nicholas David Mrozinski.

Mrozinski, who grew up in Eagan and attended Eagan High School, made it past the first round of "The Voice", and will be working with judge and platinum-selling singer-songwriter Cee Lo Green.

Mrozinski, who went by the stage name "Nicholas David" during The Voice auditions, took up the piano when he was 9-years-old. A regular in the Twin Cities music scene, he has performed at First Avenue, the Pantages Theatre and Cabooze, as well as Ansari's Mediterranean Grill in Eagan and a variety of local pubs.

Over his career as a musician, he has produced five albums, with the latest released in 2011. He's currently working on a sixth album, according to a biography posted to his Facebook page.

Mrozinski's enthusiastic approach to performing earned him the nickname "The Feelin" among his fans, according to a video documentary on the artist.

"His name, because he sings with so much soul, people say that. And because of the band," said Jackson Eddy, Mrozinski's manager, who was interviewed in the documentary.
