The Camel's Back

Time: 7 and 9 p.m. TWO PERFORMANCES ADDED!

Reservations recommended.

Written in 1920, "The Camel's Back" was the third F. Scott Fitzgerald story published in the Saturday Evening Post. Fitzgerald had returned to St. Paul for Christmas in 1919 and heard about a wild night at a Christmas costume party at Louis Hill's house at 260 Summit Ave. That party, and certain St. Paul residents, were the inspiration for the tale.

The story will be performed by The Erstwhilists, a local company of actors, musicians and foley soundstage artists who work with entertainment mediums of the past. They have performed numerous radio dramas as well as presented the classic silent film, "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari," with live dialog, sound effects and music. This presentation is their own radio play adaptation of Fitzgerald's humorous short story. The play features original live music in addition to a host of sound effects.
