Enter the poetry contest at Dakota County libraries

No matter what poetry style you like, all are celebrated at Dakota County Library’s annual poetry contest.

Poets of all ages can compete in this year’s poetry contest by submitting an original poem to Dakota County Library branches April 1–30. Poems will be judged on creativity, clarity, style and form.

First, second and third place will be awarded in five different age groups: adult, teens age 12–14 and age 15–18, and children age 6–8 and age 9–11.  Winners will be announced in May at the library events listed below. Winning poems will be published on the Dakota County Library website and printed in separate booklets for children, teens and adults. Winners receive a free copy of the printed booklet.
