What to Do With Your Storm-Damaged Trees

Mendota Heights may not be picking up debris from this weekend's storm—the city posted as much to their Facebook page on Monday, citing the "very localized" nature of the damage—but residents with damaged trees still have options for getting rid of it, beyond hiring a landscaping company to haul it away.

Dakota County operates compost sites throughout the south metro, including sites in Inver Grove Heights, Eagan, and South St. Paul.

Residents can bring tree limbs brought down by the storm, along with a number of other items, for composting:

  • Brush
  • Garden debris
  • Grass clippings
  • Leaves
  • Sod
  • Trees
  • Tree stumps
  • Wood chips
