Less than a week remains to see "the greatest ice spectacle of them all." This winter, Mall of America® has built an elaborate castle of ice, using 4 million gallons of water and Minnesota's legedary cold to construct a network of arfhes, tunnels, and caverns. The castle is 40-foot tall and covers over an acre of space in the mall's north parkng lot. However, the castle will only be open to the public until Feb. 20, 2013.
This play presented by Chameleon Theatre Circle aims to spoof 187 your classic films in an hour and half, with just three cast members. What could go wrong? The play opens this Friday at 7:30 p.m. with additional showings on Saturday and Sunday. General admission is $20 ($17 for seniors, students, ASL patrons, and large groups).
You may recognize funny lady Lisa Landry from NBC, CBS or her own half hour special, “Comedy Central Presents: Lisa Landry.” Landry has earned her chops: Twice she placed in the top five out of 100 comedians featured in Comedy Central’s annual “Standup Showdown.” Her stand-up act will be live this weekend at Mystic Lake. Tickets are $19. Friday there will be two shows, at 7:00pm and 9:30 p.m. Same on Saturday.
Padraig's Place, an adaptive ski program, will be hosting a fundraiser at Buck Hill on Saturday. The event begins at 3:30 p.m. and includes a ski race, party with dinner, silent auction and live music. Race registration is $45. A ticket to attend the other events is $20.
The new occasional sale in Apple Valley will be on this weekend at 7570 W. 147th Street from Feb. 14 through Feb. 17.
Get out of the cold with a trip to the Zoo's Tropics Trail. From Feb. 16 to Feb. 18 the zoo will be hosting a party with kid-friendly activities like a large indoor sand box, face painting, Calypso music and tête-à-têtes with zoo keepers.
