The Classic and the Silly Parade for Mendota Days

The Mendota Days annual parade features flags, veterans, clowns, bands, princesses and lots of young spectators.

Veterans, Shriners, bands, unicyclists, princesses and lots of thrown candy highlighted the annual Mendota Days parade Saturday.

The parade started at noon near the Church of St. Peter and traveled down Sibley Memorial Highway to D Street.

Visitors dispersed after the show to visit the beer gardens and concessions, a petting zoo and an inflatable bounce slide, all at the Vasatka-Goers WWII VFW Post 6690. Two bands took the stage Saturday afternoon and evening, the Dahlgren Brothers and new addition A Hard Days Night Beatles tribute band.
