Mendota Heights Patch Weekend Preview: Christmas Services, Sledding and Skating With Santa's New Toys

Mendota Heights Patch has compiled a list of the area's Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services to help residents find the perfect way to worship this weekend. If Santa brings you a brand new sled or a shiny pair of ice skates, give them a try this weekend with friends and family. The National Weather Service is predicting 1-4 inches of snow to fall before Friday night, ensuring an abundance of the picturesque white stuff for the weekend.

The sledding hill at  1897 Delaware Avenue, Mendota Heights is spacious and attracts kids of all ages.  It's not lighted at night, so best to hit the hill during the day.

Mendota Heights ice skating rinks at Friendly Hills Park (located at 2360 Pueblo Drive, off Decorah Lane), Wentworth Park (located at 739 Wentworth Ave., west of Dodd Road), and Marie Park rink (1780 Lilac Lane off of Marie)  have both hockey rinks and recreational rinks.  They are lighted at night. Ivy Hills Park rink, 635 Butler Ave. features a lighted recreational skating rink, but no warming house. Warming houses will be open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and will be unstaffed Christmas Day.

All Masses will be held in the main church; caroling begins 30 minutes before all Masses.
