Cooler Temperatures Ahead, But Not Too Cool

High temperatures during the remainder of the work week are expected to range between 34 and 43 degrees.

Enjoy the balmy temperatures—at least by December standards—on Monday, because cooler weather appears to be heading our way.

The National Weather Service in Chanhassen is predicting high temperatures for the rest of this work week to range between 34 and 43.

While those temperatures are near or above average for this time of year, they probably will feel chilly as compared to today’s high. At 11:30 a.m., the weather station at Fleming Field in South St. Paul was reporting foggy and misty conditions and a temperature of 55 degrees.

If you’re wondering, the record high for Dec. 3 in 63, which happened in 1982.

NO MEASURABLE SNOW IN SIGHT
Although the National Weather Service is calling for a slight chance of snow Wednesday night, Friday night and over the weekend, no accumulating snow is being forecasted.

The Twin Cities metro area already is running nearly a 10-inch deficit in normal snowfall, according to the weather service. The area has received 0.8 inches of the white stuff so far this season, as compared to 10.7 inches in a normal year.

At this time last year, the area had received 3.4 inches.
