Kids 'n Kinship Thanks Our Supporters!

Hi Linda,
Thank you for your interest in Kids 'n Kinship!  We would love to have you & your family get involved with our program providing mentoring for youth! Here is a little more information about our program: Mentors (age 21 or over) and mentees get together weekly for fun and enriching activities like sharing hobbies, sports, going to the park, arts & crafts, etc.  Mentors can be individuals, couples or families. We encourage low cost activities so the focus is more on spending time together than the mentor spending money on the child.  To that end, we offer several discounted and free passes to area attractions like the YMCA, the Zoo, professional and college sport events, and the science museum and children's museum.  We serve children in the following communities: Burnsville, Apple Valley, Lakeville, Eagan, Farmington, or Rosemount.  We consider personalities, common interests, backgrounds, etc. in making the best possible match for our volunteers and children on the waiting list. The next step is to give me a call so we can discuss your interest in mentoring (952-891-3885). You are also invited to attend an Information Session - upcoming dates:  Tuesday Nov. 19 from 6:00-6:45 pm at the Galaxie Library in Apple ValleyMonday Dec. 9  from 6:00-6:45 pm at the Wescott Library in Eagan The Information Session is the place to hear about the children who are waiting for mentors, the volunteer screening process and the activities and benefits provided by Kids 'n Kinship. We also have application materials at Information Sessions. We have sessions every few weeks during the day/evening/weekends, so if these are not convenient, we'll plan a date and time that works for you. You can also check out our website (www.kidsnkinship.org) for information on children currently waiting, stories of current matches, and an application you can download if you're ready to get started. When you call me, let me know if you can attend one of the above Information Sessions.  Mentoring is a fantastic way to volunteer- it's a fun, intensely rewarding, and challenging experience developing a relationship with a young person and making a positive difference in their life! Let me know if you have any questions. Looking forward to talking with you!
