Cell Phones for Soldiers hopes to turn old cell phones into more than 12 million minutes of prepaid calling cards for U.S. troops stationed overseas in 2008. To do so, Cell Phones for Soldiers expects to collect 50,000 cell phones each month through a network of more than 3,000 collection sites across the country.

Ms. Cabot...Thankyou for posting the artical about cell phones to our troops! I moved here from Long Beach, CA and still read the LA Times daily...big news is that prisoners in our prisons are conducting business as usual, with the use of their personal cell phones. Gee, wouldn't it be great if our troops could call their loved ones on the cell phone that WE DONATED! Thanks for showing the Email address for this cause! When I was young, my mom and her Ladies Aid group knit socks and mittens for the troops...now we need to send our old, out of style, not cool enough six month old cell phones! How about sending your old iPod loaded with music...Nancy Sevigny....P.S. Love the Patch! Lots of great info!
