Proceeds from a silent auction Friday night at Dodge Nature Center will benefit technology, book purchases and afterschool activities at Somerset Heights Elementary. Last year's auction raised more than $23,000, according to organizer Amy Nelson. To accompany the auction items, classes at Somerset collected themed items to populate the whimsical, practical and all-around clever goodie baskets up for raffle. The event is being held from 7-9 p.m., Feb. 18 at 1701 Charlton St. in West Saint Paul.
