Candidates File for Mendota Heights Area Elections

The following names will be on the ballot for local elections in Mendota Heights, Mendota and Lilydale.

The race to watch in local elections this November will be a face-off between Mendota Heights Mayor Sandra Krebsach and her challenger, council member Ultan Duggan.

No other city race in Mendota Heights, Mendota or Lilydale will be competitive. Steve Norton, Mendota Heights planning commission chair, is running for a seat that will be vacated by senior council member Jack Vitelli, who is not running.*

Filing for races without a primary ended Tuesday. Candidates had until Thursday to withdraw.

Congressional and state primary races on Tuesday also determined who will move forward to the Nov. 6 election.

There are no elections for District 197 School Board in 2012.
