The results of Mendots Heights Patch's most recent Readers' Choice poll are in, and Granite City Food & Brewery has been voted the Best Brunch in the South Metro.

Granite City took an early lead, and held on to it for the duration of the contest, capturing 36 percent of the vote. Axel's River Grille (Mendota) was runner up in the polls, with 9 percent of the vote. 

Trevor Fortin, assistant manager for Granite City, says that what makes the restaurant's brunch exceptional is the variety, quality and consistency of the food.

"It's made right every time," said Fortin. "The consistency is important."
