Long serving Mendota Heights Councilmember Ultan Duggan is my choice for Mayor of Mendota Heights.

           I first met Ultan in the early 1980s.  We attended a neighborhood meeting because of our concerns about a development proposal before the City Council. Before that meeting concluded, Ultan, who was well prepared on the issues involved, took a leadership role, and became our spokesperson before the City Council.

          He articulated our concerns to the Council in a persuasive, respectful and effective manner with customary Irish wit, and also demonstrated his understanding of how the matter might be viewed from the Council’s perspective.

           His impressive performance before the Council on this and several other matters eventually led to his appointment by the Council to the City’s Planning Commission where he served as member or chairman for 15 years, and where I also served, and had the opportunity to observe and experience his ability at leading us to consensus.

              As a 55-year resident of Mendota Heights, I could not be more confident that turning over the reins of the City to Ultan Duggan who has repeatedly demonstrated his leadership and dedication to our City, is the right choice.
