Three Visitation Students Tour Italy for Summer Immersion Program
Mendota Heights residents Analise Ober, daughter of Tim and Gayle Ober, and Grace Blevins, daughter of Tim and Marjie Blevins, attended the Spoleto Study Abroad (SSA) 2012 arts and humanities immersion program in the historic town of Spoleto, Italy, this summer.
A senior at Convent of the Visitation School in Mendota Heights, Analise participated in the creative writing program at Spoleto; Grace, a junior, participated in the drama program.
In addition, the girls and their SSA classmates spent their time in Italy studying a rich and varied curriculum in the arts and embarking on twice-weekly excursions to cultural centers such as Florence, Assisi, Tivoli, Siena, and other medieval towns in central Italy. These day trips offered students the opportunity to experience significant artistic, cultural, and historic treasures first-hand.
Analise and Grace were two of three Visitation students selected to participate in this intensive summer study abroad program in the arts and humanities. Senior Becca Thavis of St. Paul participated in the vocal music program.
Visitation is an active member of a consortium of schools across the country that supports the Spoleto Study Abroad program mission.
