Rev. Richard V. Berg, 85. Ordained a Catholic Priest in 1952. He served in parishes in Minneapolis, West St. Paul, Loretto, Stillwater, New Brighton, Forest Lake and Lake St. Croix Beach until his retirement to the Leo Byrne Priest's residence in 1996. Fr. Berg was predeceased by his parents Val and Helen Berg, two sisters Patricia Weidner and Joyce Harder; nephew Paul Weidner; and great grand-nephew Chase Beck-Weidner. He will be missed by his nephews, Peter B. Weidner and Ernest Weidner Jr.; nieces, Madeleine (Rodney) Marquardt, Gretchen (Steven) Duerksen; grandnephews, Jonathan and Matthew (Michelle) Beck-Weidner, Raymund, Bryan Richard, and Nathan Marquardt and Kendrick Duerksen; grandniece, Emily Joy (Matt) Batroot. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 16770 13th St., Lake St. Croix Beach. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment St. Michael's Cemetery, Bayport. Memorials are preferred to St. Paul Seminary.
